Summer Concert, June 2026
A warm summer evening of timeless music brought Gledholt Methodist Church to life.
Winston's Pennine Jazz captured the mood with their classic rendition of 'Blue Skies'.
Keeping the retro spirit alive, Marsh Ladies Choir delighted the audience with many favourites including 'Dream a Little Dream' and 'Anything Goes'.

The Gift of Music, March 2026
Marsh Ladies celebrated The Gift of Music with Lindley Band at a lovely afternoon concert of varied choral singing and brass band entertainment.
The choir and band were on great form showcasing some beautiful pieces both well known and new to the appreciative audience.
MLC sang Musica Dei in memory of Raymond Ellis, honorary member and friend of the choir, incomparable compere and soloist at many concerts.

Christmas Concert, December 2025
A wealth of talent entertained the packed audience at our 2026 Christmas Concert.
In addition to their usual duties, MD Ian and accompanist Kim gave us two exciting duets, Troika and Sleigh Ride.
Guest soloist Roland Mander beautifully sang some wonderful Christmas songs accompanied on classical guitar by Hannah Roulson.
Roly was also our compère for the concert, introducing the choir’s varied range of Christmas music, including songs from Rutter and Britten,
and traditional carols. The afternoon ended with a candlelight rendition of White Christmas.

Anniversary Concert, June 2025
70 years of singing was marked in style at our Perfectly Platinum concert on Saturday 21st June at Holy Trinity Church Huddersfield.
Chris Pulleyn, our wonderful singing compere, hosted a tremendous evening full of joyful song from Marsh Ladies, conducted as usual by Ian Abbott and accompanied by Kim Kaye.
The choir premiered Ian's new arrangement of "What would I do without my music".
Their guests, the renowned Lindley Junior School Choir conducted by Alison North MBE and accompanied by Emma McKenna, showed that the local music scene is in safe hands for the future.
Amongst the guests was Kirklees Mayor, Elizabeth Smaje, who added her message to the choir's anniversary tree.
Thanks to everyone who supports the choir, enabling us to continue singing in this special anniversary year and beyond.

Mrs Sunderland Festival, February 2024
Congratulations to Marsh Ladies at the 2024 Mrs Sunderland Music Festival on winning the Joseph Hancock trophy (Class 91) singing “Musica Dei” and
“It Don’t Mean A Thing”. We were also placed second in the Festive (Class 90) with “Mary, Did You Know?” and “Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day”.

Tallinn
Our first foreign tour was to Tallinn, Estonia in September 2007.
Conducted by Gordon Stewart and accompanied by Andrew Dean, the choir performed in The Niguliste Museum Concert Hall and Tallinn Town Hall.
The Ladies Choir of the Technical University of Tallinn were our guests at a reception in The House of the Brotherhood of Blackheads.

Our History
Starting in 1955...
Marsh Ladies Choir was founded in 1955, with Muriel Walker as its Conductor and Barbara Todd as Accompanist.
